Center Of Mass — Easy JEE physics MCQ
Two particles of masses $3$ kg and $5$ kg are placed at $(2, 3)$ and $(6, 7)$ respectively. The coordinates of center of mass are:
- A. $(4.5, 5.5)$
- B. $(4, 5)$
- C. $(5, 6)$
- D. $(4.5, 5)$
Solution
$x_{cm} = \frac{3(2) + 5(6)}{8} = \frac{36}{8} = 4.5$
$y_{cm} = \frac{3(3) + 5(7)}{8} = \frac{44}{8} = 5.5$
